Water media artist Lynne Yancha is known for her realistic portrayals of children, animals, still life motifs, and landscapes. As Yancha began her career after receiving her degree from Millersville University in 1972, she felt the need to connect with her subject matter, to build a relationship before painting. Each painting begins with a drawing, and she “feels the release as she paints ovefr the drawing – leaving the detail to avoid being trapped in the meticulous details.” She has achieved national recognition, as a signature member of five national art societies, including the American Watercolor Society, the prestigious Dolphin Foundation, and the Knickerbocker Artist in New York, the Catherine Lorillard Wolf Art Club, and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society.
