“My paintings are intuitive reactions to the subject matter and to the paint itself. Whether inspired by a figure, a structure, or non-objective shapes and color, I am interested in the interplay of shape or movement, color or value, and of delicate line balancing strong gesture. I often use vigorous sweeping strokes to suggest subject matter then play active elements against areas of calm.” – Abby Rudisill
